Japanese Antworks pork rice brand Densetsu no Sutadonya debuts in Hong Kong
Japanese rice bowl chain operator, Antworks Co Ltd, announced today (20 December 2022) that it will officially open its first rice bowl restaurant, Densetsu no Sutadonya, in Hong Kong on 26 December, introducing filling and delicious “Sutadon” meal to discerning diners in the city.

Densetsu no Sutadonya’s signature dish is “Sutadon”, which is a bowl of rice topped with a large bowl of pork belly stir-fried in a secret garlic soy sauce that is equivalent to about three bowls of rice in a normal serving. The new Hong Kong restaurant is located at a shopping mall in Kwai Fong and is the brand’s fifth overseas store after two in the US, and one each in Thailand and Taiwan.
The restaurant which makes original legendary rice bowl has about 50 years of history in Japan with 135 restaurants nationwide and now is expanding to Hong Kong through a partnership with Well Core Holdings Ltd., according to its Department of International Business Support Manager, Mr Toru Imanaga.
Mr Imanaga said, “Hong Kong is situated in the heart of Asia and people here love Japanese food and culture. Many Japanese restaurants already set their foothold in the city. We believe that we can use our Hong Kong branch as a successful showcase to raise the brand awareness in the region.”
He added, "We are planning to open more branches in Hong Kong so that more local customers can experience our sutadon and other dishes. We also hope to find business partners in other Asian countries who are willing to integrate our ideas to suit the local market needs via Hong Kong."
