Robots Scale New Heights

Israeli AI-powered high-rise maintenance company Verobotics views Hong Kong as the ideal place for its business to soar.

Hong Kong embraces innovation and is very welcoming to businesses.

Co-founder and CEO, Verobotics

Hong Kong’s thriving innovation and technology (I&T) environment, along with its dense urban landscape filled with towering skyscrapers, makes it an ideal location for Verobotics’ business to flourish. Founded in 2021, the company develops autonomous robotic systems to perform high-rise building maintenance such as cleaning and defect inspection. Its lightweight robots autonomously navigate the exterior of skyscrapers for safer, more efficient alternatives to traditional cleaners utilising cranes and platforms. Simultaneously while they are cleaning, the bots map their environment in order to detect any structural issues. Cracks, leaks, missing tiles and other potentially hazardous elements can be detected in real time: a proactive approach that may save owners costs or future accidents.

Where Innovation Thrives

It was a straightforward decision for Verobotics to select Hong Kong as its regional headquarters. “The city embraces innovation and is very welcoming to businesses,” explained Ido Genosar, Co-founder and CEO of Verobotics. “Hong Kong’s key landlords, service providers, government departments and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks all actively support and adopt cutting-edge technology. This creates an environment where innovation thrives.”

Genosar is excited to witness the city’s I&T ecosystem bolstered by the government’s promotional efforts. “We participated in the Global Construction Robotic Day organised by the Construction Industry Council in May 2024,” said Genosar. “There were nearly 30 construction technology exhibitors
from Greater China and around the world. It was a very successful event and helped us expand our network here.”

Genosar believes that Hong Kong offers a number of advantages to Verobotics: its dynamic business environment, advanced infrastructure and connectivity to major international markets are all ideal for business development. Its access to a skilled workforce, proximity to key partners in I&T, and robust legal framework further contribute to the city’s appeal.

Pivotal Role for Regional Expansion

With its innovative technology, Verobotics has established a dominant position in the local market. The company is partnering with a renowned local robotics solutions company as their operational partner and distributor in the city, and working with a leading property developer as a design partner. These strategic collaborations have had a significant impact on Verobotics’ success in penetrating the market.

Genosar sees its Tsim Sha Tsui office as Verobotics’ landing pad. “In the coming years, we anticipate that our Hong Kong office will play an increasingly pivotal role,” shared Genosar. “We plan to scale up our operations, establish a larger and more permanent office space that can accommodate our growing team, enhance our manufacturing processes, and deepen our collaborations with local partners. We will then be better positioned to leverage Hong Kong’s strategic advantages and drive our growth in the region.”

Genosar is grateful to InvestHK for its introduction to various stakeholders and help with promotional opportunities. “Hong Kong is one of the most exciting places to be,” he stated. “The city is vibrant, offering a perfect blend of business and leisure attractions. It is easy to commute and the people are incredibly welcoming. Its dynamic atmosphere, cultural diversity and endless opportunities make Hong Kong an outstanding place to work and live.”
