Germany-based smart lighting solution company scales up Hong Kong operation for global expansion
German smart lighting solution company, Sycra Technologies Limited, announced today (25 March 2022) that it has expanded its Hong Kong team tapping the city’s tech-friendly environment and favourable policy as part of its global strategy.

Sycra is the branch of the Astera Group that focuses in high-tech smart lighting development. It combines a set of hardware and software to develop smart lighting products including sensors, light controllers, IoT (Internet of Things), and more, offering a one-stop smart lighting solution for smart building, office and high-end residential.
Sycra, set up in Hong Kong in 2018, has been leading in R&D of connected automation technologies. It has joined in the Incu-Tech Programme operated by Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks (HKSTP) and recruited technology talents through the Research Talent Hub for incubatees and innovation and technology tenants of the HKSTP and Cyberport in Hong Kong, which helped the company gain good headway in its product development.
Sycra’s mission is to take lighting one step smarter for a greener, healthier and more environmental friendly world through connected automation technologies. Apart from the expansion in Hong Kong, Sycra is also approaching another milestone with the imminent completion of an all-in-one solution for green building, smart office and smart lighting.
Company’s CEO, Mr Asher Sun, said that in view of the growing demand in the niche market of smart lighting, the company decided to enhance its local and global presence via Hong Kong, given the city’s strategic location.
He said, “Hong Kong is a crucial location not only as a bridge between the Mainland`s production capabilities with the world`s need for innovative technologies and life-changing products, but also as a technological hub where technology companies like us are welcome and supported by many governmental entities which facilitates greatly in our implantation.”

“Our Hong Kong office is our regional headquarter as it hosts what is now the core of our SMART SYSTEM and the heart of our technology among its R&D team, but it also is a pivotal point of our business development not only locally but also through our expansion in Asia Pacific, and later on in Europe,” Mr Sun added.
