Mainland hotel group opens high-end Ningbo restaurant in Hong Kong
Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) announced today (29 May 2024) that its Mainland client, Ningbo Hangzhou Bay Hotel Management Co Ltd, has opened its first Tung Lan Restaurant in Wanchai bringing Ningbo specialty cuisine to local customers.
The new restaurant occupies more than 2,000 square metres consisting 11 luxury private rooms and restaurant. It is equipped with first-class professional red wine and tea facilities, KTV area, etc, providing diners Ningbo dishes with a fusion of Chinese and Western, Ningbo and Guangdong dishes.
The Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion, Dr Jimmy Chiang, said “Hong Kong as the culinary capital of Asia offers a wide variety of cuisines for customers. We are happy to see that Tung Lan has joined the city’s vibrant food and beverage industry, adding more dining options for us. We wish it every success in Hong Kong and beyond.”
The Chairman of Ningbo Hangzhou Bay Hotel Management Co Ltd, Mr Hu Yunbo, said that the group has been committed to inventing Ningbo cuisine and culture since its establishment in 1994. He said, “Hong Kong as an international city is the bridgehead of China’s economic reform. The opening of Tung Lan Restaurant is our first step to go global.”
Mr Hu added, “We will not only promote Ningbo cuisine through our Hong Kong restaurant, but also further strengthen cultural exchanges between Ningbo and Hong Kong. We are confident in expanding our business in the city as people here love Ningbo cuisine. In fact, we are considering to open a mid-range restaurant in Kowloon side in 2025.”
