Malaysian durian and tropical fruit planter, manufacturer and exporter opens first regional office in Hong Kong
Malaysian durian and tropical fruit planter, manufacturer and exporter Top Fruits Sdn Bhd announced today (28 July 2022) that it has opened its first regional office in Hong Kong, leveraging the city's free trade port status to expand its durian and tropical fruit exporting business in the region.
Top Fruits specialises in multi variety durians
Top Fruits is one of the largest single-owner agricultural planters in Malaysia, with more than 30 years of plantation experience in the country and managing 500 acres of planting land. Its products are mainly durians as well as other tropical fruits like mangosteen, rambutan, jackfruit and more, being exported to more than 20 countries around the world, according to the Director of Business Development of Top Fruits Supply (HK) Limited, Ms Elishah Tan.
Ms Tan said, "Hong Kong is a free trade port situated in the heart of Asia. It gives us easy access to other Southeast Asian countries. That's why we chose Hong Kong as the first place outside of Malaysia to expand our business in the region."
She added, "Hong Kong people love durians. We see an increasing demand for durians in Hong Kong market. By setting up our first regional office in the city, we can expand our export business with not just fresh durians but also our downstream products like cakes and gelatos. We also plan to expand our business to supermarkets and perhaps venture into the food and beverage market and open our very own retail store in the city."
Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion Mr Charles Ng said, "Hong Kong is a free global trade port with close links to the Mainland and the rest of Asia. It is the ideal place for Top Fruits to set up its first regional office. We wish it every success in Hong Kong and beyond."
